one happy scrapper

October 29, 2007

i got quite a bit of scrapping done this weekend. i finished two pages (minus the journaling) for our scrapbook, and four pages (still have to do the headers on two) for ryan and ori’s wedding scrapbook. the two pages i’m completely done with are two of my all-time favorites. i just love how they turned out.

cropping and costumes

October 22, 2007

it was a semi-busy, semi-relaxing weekend in our household. after work on friday, a co-worker and i headed to kennesaw for a close to my heart workshop. it was a lot of fun, and i’m really excited to start cropping with the women in my meetup group. they all seem really cool. i bought a set of stamps, and now i have to pick out something else to buy to go toward our hostesses party. the problem is, it’s too hard to decide. i want a lot of the items in the catalog! here’s the latest page i did to enter into our group’s contest. the theme is to scrapbook a day of the week.

sabbath lunch

on saturday, i ended up sleeping until almost 11 a.m. (this arthritis is kicking my butt. when will the enbrel get back in my system??), so i missed church. i made a yummy lunch for us: baked chicken (vegetarian buffalo wings for me!), wild rice and corn.

after an afternoon of reading, relaxing and scrapping, it was time to prepare for tim and mindy’s halloween party. as i mentioned earlier, we decided to change our costumes. i went as andie anderson from “how to lose a guy in 10 days”.

joe went as the transporter.

now, two people showed up in regular clothes. when asked what they were, valerie said, “oh, i’m an extra”, and david said, “i’m, uh, bud bundy.” bud bundy who’s not even in a movie. then, *they* won prizes for their costumes! what’s up with that?? at least we picked characters from our favorite movies, as was the theme. oh well.

sunday was spent relaxing and watching another playoff blow-out as the red sox beat the indians to advance to the world series. yay. and now, it’s monday again. next weekend seems so far away.

girl’s night out

October 19, 2007

one of my co-workers and i are going out for a girl’s night tonight. i’m really excited. i joined a scrapbooking meetup group in kennesaw, and tonight is a get together with a demonstration by a close to my heart consultant. i haven’t really heard much about this company, but i’ve browsed its web site, and i’m excited to see what kinds of products they offer. it’s too bad tonight’s not an actual crop night because i am *so* far behind in my scrapbooking (i’m still working on march in our family scrapbook and i’ve only done 3 pages in ryan and ori’s wedding scrapbook), but it will still be fun to hang out with a bunch of girls. besides, i haven’t been in a scrapbooking mood lately, so hopefully this will help get me out of my funk!

side income

September 21, 2007

i have been a member of pay per post for a while. i haven’t really taken many of the assignments available, but every now and then i take a couple blog reviews. i like earning a little extra money on the side for fun things, but i also don’t want to “sell” my blog and turn off my readers. it’s a fine line. as i said though, it is nice having some extra money coming into my paypal account, money that i can use for me (joe will *not* let me use it on anything else). i think i’ll probably get some new winter clothes with my earnings thus far. i really don’t have a lot of pants or long skirts, so i’ll probably pick some up, even though with the weather as warm as it is now, i don’t know when i’ll need them! sigh. i love clothes shopping. i just don’t have the time to go! i can’t remember the last time i went to the mall. it’s about 20 minutes away, and i just don’t have time in the morning before work, and i’m too tired when i get home from work (on the days i get home before the mall closes). we’ll have to go on a sunday in the near future though. i have a michael’s gift card that is dying to be used. it probably will go toward shelves and other things as part of our project to remodel my scrap area.

crafts and friends

September 5, 2007

this is my entry in carol’s crafting contest.

i got some scrapbooking in last night while joe was playing tennis. the time sure flew by! i finally started the wedding scrapbook i’m doing for my brother and his wife (their christmas present), and i made some birthday cards for joe’s parents and sister. i thought they were pretty good for a first attempt.

i like the double page spread i did for their portraits. and they line up almost perfectly.

i think i’m going to add some white ribbon to the left side on this page.

i might get some more scrapping in today. we’ll see. tomorrow, i’m heading up to chattanooga to have lunch with chas! i’m so excited. she will be the first blogger friend i’ve met since lisanne stood me up in new york! (just kidding!)

concert scrap page

August 17, 2007

i did another page tonight. i feel like i’ve been so productive this week! i really like this one. i think it’s one of the best ones i’ve made. i recreated the stage of the faith hill/tim mcgraw concert, and i think it looks pretty awesome.

scrapping

August 15, 2007

i finally did some scrapping tonight. i am so far behind. i finished the spread on my birthday, which was in march. that shows you just how far behind i am. the list of pages yet to do is daunting.
