playing hostess

i’m hosting our family’s sabbath lunch at our house tomorrow. i’m really excited because i love hosting and cooking for people. i’m also very overwhelmed because we just finished clearing out the apartment and now have a lot of things in the house. i have a pile of clothes on the guest bed that need to be hung in that room’s closet, but we have to fix the shelf first because it was placed right on top of the bar. sigh. i also have several boxes still to unpack, which probably will be put out in the carport for now. they won’t even be noticed amongst the other boxes still waiting for us to go through. it still bothers me, though, because i wanted my house to be perfect when my grandparents saw it. oh well. i’ll just have to learn to deal.

i hate, hate, *hate* clutter. and i hate having boxes in the carport. it makes me feel very redneck. at least i know it won’t be for long (unlike a house across the street from our old apartment complex that has a chockfull carport and items spilling out into the driveway). i’m just waiting for a weekend when we can dedicate time to go through them. we always seem to have something going on. hopefully next weekend we can really tackle it.

I know what you mean about the boxes. We are using our artists cottage to store stuff for now, which is basically just a cottage in the backyard. But it has a huge glass window, so you can see that we use it for storage and I think it looks awful. Granted, nobody but us can see our backyard, but I hate it!

Hope the Sabbath lunch goes well. We haven’t been going to the SDA church lately because I’m taking a prenatal yoga class on Saturdays and I’m finding that I miss Saturday sabbath.
